Celebrity Parents

A celebrity parents list is usually a photo gallery with no sources. This one is a list of names, each one recorded in Wikidata and named in the person's English Wikipedia article, with both links on the page it came from. Pick a name, or upload a selfie and let the matcher blend famous faces into a pair of your own.

Celebrity parents, each name with a source

The list below is short on purpose. Every entry is a person whose parents are themselves well known, where the two names can be checked rather than remembered, and where the page about them answers the question the search actually asks.

Each page states who the parents are, what the sources say they do, whether either of them appears in this site's own roster of couples, and where the names came from. Nothing is inferred from a surname and nothing is written from memory.

Why a celebrity parents list is hard to keep straight

Two things go wrong with these lists. The first is the obvious one: a name gets copied from another list, and the same error is on forty sites. The second is subtler: a list of famous families is mostly step-parents, marriages and stage names, and a plain list cannot say which is which.

So this one keeps to what a database records and a newspaper article repeats. Where the two disagree, the page is not written at all — that is what the fetch script enforces before an entry is published.

From a famous family to your own face

Reading about other people's parents is the browse half of this site. The other half is the same question turned around: if two faces could blend into the one in your photograph, which famous pair would it be?

The generator measures six structural features — face shape and proportion, eye shape and spacing, nose bridge and tip, jaw and chin, mouth line, and brow position — and scores them against a roster of fifty couples, then returns the pair whose combined features come closest. The free run names that pair; a credit opens the full report with three pairs, the feature breakdown and a share card.

Where the names on this list come from

Every parent name on these pages is fetched from Wikidata's parent claims and checked against the English Wikipedia article for the person, which has to mention both names before the entry is published. Both source links and the date they were read are printed on the page.

Two entries depart from that, and say so on the page: Wikidata records no parent claim at all for Zendaya or for Rihanna, so those names come from the article alone rather than from two agreeing sources.

These pages are not affiliated with the people they describe. If a name is wrong or out of date, the contact address in the footer reaches the person who can correct it.

Every celebrity parents page on the site

One page per family. Each one names both parents, links the sources it read, and says whether that couple appears in the matcher's roster.

Frequently asked questions

Are these really the parents of the people listed?

Yes, and every page shows where each name came from: the Wikidata item holding the parent claim and the English Wikipedia article naming both parents, each with the date it was read.

Why are only a dozen people on the list?

Because each page has to answer with something checkable. A name goes on the list when the parents are well known enough to be worth a page of their own and the record can be verified, which is a higher bar than being included in a gallery.

Can the generator tell me who my celebrity parents are?

It can match your face against a roster of famous couples and name the pair whose combined features come closest, with the features behind the score. It is an entertainment tool, not a family record.

Some entries have no occupation listed. Why?

Because the sources carry none. Printing a job title nobody recorded would be a guess dressed up as a fact, so the page says the source has nothing instead.
